Community Platform
A curated book platform for indie founders: building community-driven discovery

The challenge
Book recommendations for founders scatter across Twitter threads, newsletters, and blog posts β no single place to discover what actually moved the needle for people building solo businesses. The brief was a curated, community-validated directory where signal beats noise.
The approach
Quality gates over quantity. Instead of a free-for-all submission model, books are curated with a focus on proven impact for solopreneurs and indie hackers. Shareable lists make the content socially distributable β a user curates their top 5 books and shares the list on Twitter. The rating system surfaces what the community has found transformative, not just popular.
What was built
Curated submission flow
Books go through a lightweight editorial review to maintain quality.
Shareable lists
Users create public lists with custom slugs, designed for social sharing.
Impact-weighted ratings
Ratings are weighted toward readers who self-identify as solopreneurs or indie hackers, filtering out general-audience noise.
Discovery filters
Filter by stage (idea, early, growth), topic (mindset, sales, product), and reading time.
The outcome
Community-driven, live
IndiesReadIt is live as the go-to curated book resource for the indie hacker community. Live at indiesread.it.
